Quill Work Living Archive

From 1900 to 1960, Georgian Bay, Ontario experienced a convergence of three distinct  populations; Shawanaga Ojibwe Indians (Aneshnabe) , Canadian fishermen and American Tourists. The Ojibwe abundantly created quill and birch boxes with decorations  that depicted  many symbols of these interactions and the changing environment. This photographic archive contains images of the quillwork done during this time.
