After the attack of 9/11/2001, Tribeca residents discovered that their pioneering spirits had left them in a context devoid of infrastructure or amenities to support their devastated community. The tragedy demanded  extra-ordinary support. To fill these gaps and to provide social and medical support we quickly opened a center which provided venues for supplies, expressive art and music, and presentations on medical precaution. The effort was later merged to be become Manhattan Youth.
